philip williams posters

sabrina, originally uploaded by lahat.

was wandering around on west broadway during my lunch hour, and i happened upon what i thought was either a typical used bookstore or a generic movie poster reproduction shop. i stood outside and fingered my way through a rack of postcards from some of the "classics" -- All About Eve, The Hustler, Rebel Without a Cause, Bus Stop, North By Northwest, and Casablanca. needless to say, i decided to buy them all. (a girl can never have too many postcards.) i stepped inside to pay and was pretty overwhelmed by the volume--paper everywhere, hung, racked, and stacked like the pretty persians in a rug warehouse. i saw this sabrina poster and was thilled, thinking i'd add that to my little stash and consider the afternoon a wild success. the poster was, to my surprise, an original from the POLISH release, and priced accordingly. i.e., waaaay out of my range.

original works are dear, but movie buffs should stop by and wade through whether you're looking to "invest" or not. nosing around is free! and those groovy postcards fit nicely into jsut about any budget.
